Getting to know Ennis, Montana

The town of Ennis, Montana is located in the famous Madison Valley. This lovely town of about 1000 people is just a touch over 60 miles from Bozeman and 75 miles from West Yellowstone, Montana.

Living in Ennis is like living in a postcard. Local elevations start at 5,000ft  on the valley floor with heights of 13,600ft in the surrounding peaks.

Madison County is known for it's Blue Ribbon trout streams, gorgeous lakes for boating and fishing recreation. There is fabulous hunting, hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling, whitewater rafting to say nothing of just sitting and looking at the panoramic mountain scenery.

The Madison River flows north to Three Forks where it converges with the Gallatin and Jefferson Rivers.  The lively town of Ennis is one of Montana's best loved "Little Towns" ... but it offers everything you need without the "Big City" mess and stress. Outstanding restaurants, Brewery and Whiskey Distillery, fun Novelty shopping, a full service Supermarket, Golf Course, Medical Clinic and Hospital (with it's own helicopter pad/service to larger medical facilities) a wonderful Library, new Senior Center, new School Buildings - K to12, Bowling Alley, Gyms, Theater, Hunting and Fishing Outfitters, Historic Guest Ranches and B&B's. There are Auto parts, auto repair and tire shops, auto body shops, Property Management firms, Title Companies and of course ... Realtors.

About six (6) miles south of Ennis is the Ennis/Big Sky Airport (KEKS) that is getting an extended lighted runway in 2020/2021 along with hangers and jet fuel. West Yellowstone also has an airport which is open June 1st to October 1st - weather permitting. Gallatin Field International Airport in Bozeman is about 75 miles north and is open all year.

There are numerous Summer and Winter sports and activities that only add to the fun you can enjoy in or very near Ennis and Jeffers Montana. Snow Skiing, Snowmobiling, Dog Sledding, Ice Fishing just to get your weekend started. In Summer it's almost endless with kayaking, Horseback riding, Mountain Climbing, Zip-lining, Mountain Biking, Wildlife Viewing, Water Sports on Ennis Lake and the best camping on a lake you ever had about 50 miles south at Cliff and Wade Lakes. The fascinating mining town of Virginia City that played such an important part in the settlement of Montana (1860's to 1890's) is only 14 miles from Ennis. A day trip supreme.

With Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park to thrill you and yours. A trip to Jackson Hole in Summer or Winter is always a great way to see and enjoy the real West.

It's all here.

The Small Town Atmosphere.

Easy, Convenient and Quality Services.

Year-round Recreational Opportunities.

Ennis is just a fine place to Live, Work and Play.

Come and see for yourself ... you will not want to leave.
